  • Description

    Admiral Bobbery is a retired sea captain, who accompanies Mario as a navigator and partner in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. His salty, sea-dog, stereotypical sailor personality makes for some entertaining and colorful dialogue. Being a Bob-omb, his main attacks consist of him running up to an enemy and exploding, or launching small grenades shaped like himself at the enemy which explode after a short time.

  • Biography

    Long ago, Bobbery had a wife named Scarlette, who he loved madly. However, being a sea captain meant that he had to spend long periods of time away from his home and beloved wife. One day, while Bobbery was on a very long sea voyage, Scarlette became very ill and passed away without his knowing. When he returned home, he found that she was dead and blamed himself. His thinking was that if he wasn't out at sea, he could've nurtured her back to health. He then vowed to never sail again, and retired to a lonely life of regret. Years later, Mario was able to bring him the letter Scarlette left for him on her death bed. Because of Bobbery's sadness, the person Scarlette had asked to be responsible for making sure Bobbery got the letter, couldn't bring himself to give it to him. Anyway, Bobbery gazed at the tender note which read that Scarlette knew he would blame himself for her death, and stop sailing, and that she didn't want him to stop sailing and lose his 'other love' as well as her. Upon reading this, Bobbery agreed to join Mario as his navigator.
